The Messaging Client for Terminal provides a GUI interface to the user to send messages over the Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) Network. The software communicates with the MSS Reporting Terminal connected to the PC, to transfer the message typed by the user. The software will break up the message into multiple packets if necessary for transmission.

The software allows for plug-in of encryption and compression components and to be used if enabled in the configuration. Headers are added to the packet for packet identification of the data present in the packet. Unique message id will be generated to handle multiple messages from the same terminal. The software will transfer the message packet-by-packet by maintaining communication with the terminal until all packets are transferred. GPS messages can be received and transmitted.

The user can request the GPS position from the Reporting Terminal, which can be modified if necessary before transmission. The reporting terminal can be configured from the software by means of the different interfaces provided. All configuration and changes will be logged to a database. The Reports for the same can be viewed from the GUI.
